Sea Generation (Wales) Ltd, a development company set up by Marine Current Turbines - A Siemens Business (MCT) , is proposing to construct a tidal current array at a site off the North West coast of Anglesey referred to as the Anglesey Skerries Tidal Array (ASTA).

MCT is recognised as being one of the world's leading tidal energy developers. It has developed the SeaGen tidal energy converter and in April 2008, installed the SeaGen S 1.2MW tidal turbine in Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland. Sea Generation Ltd is wholly owned by MCT, which itself is owned by Siemens AG and forms part of its Hydro & Ocean Business.
